I just downloaded it and I am building/testing SA 3.4.0. Once it passes
its tests, I plan to put it into production. This is a Redhat 6.5 system
running sendmail 8.14.8 and MailScanner 4.84.6-1.

Did you have to do the patches to Spamassassin to get MCP to work with 3.4 ?

The OpenBSD -current ports tree has had SA 3.4.0 for a bit under a month
now and I have been running SA 3.4.0 with the latest MailScanner without
any noticeable issues so far.
